Imaginative application of sensors provides improved safety and convenience in the home. Technology developed for nuclear power, aerospace or the military may be applied to problems commonly encountered in a domstic setting.
Some of the devices we have developed or modified are listed below.
** REMOTE SENSING THERMOSTAT allows control of temperature tailored to any location in a structure. The small portable thermostat is not wired to the house circuitry and may be placed in any desired location and relocated as required.
** AUTOMATIC WINDOW CLOSURE senses rain and closes windows and reopens them after storms. This device was developed for homes in Bermuda where frequent daytime squalls presented an opportunity to apply automatic sensing to a common problem.
** DRIVEWAY ALERT has been designed for situations where the driveway exit does not allow easy detection of vehicles approaching over the crest of a hill or around a blind corner. A sensor placed beyond the sightline transmits an alarm to a receiver to warn that exiting the driveway would not be safe. A self-check feature and failure alarm are integrated into the design.
** REMOTE CONTROLS AND MONITORING over phone lines (or cell) permits control of appliances, lights, heaters or security devices via phone from any location. Turn on heat or air conditioning, start meals or cycle lights using simple touch pad commands. Valuable to remotely monitor activity of family members or pets.
** A REMOTE WIRELESS ALARMING FIRE DETECTOR provides a "repeat" of an alarm at a distance up to 1/2 mile (or unlimited via cell phone)to provide positive notification of an alarm in a distant point in the home,in an outbuilding or in a neighbors home. Mutual alarms with neighbors assure backup capability during absence in neighboring home.
** A CHILD MONITOR uses a protective perimeter at property borders and around dangerous areas (such as pools) to immediately warn parents via pager if a child or pet has entered a pre-determined prohibited area. The protected child wears a small transmiter which sends a signal to a pager if a limit is violated. A panic button and tamper alarm are also fitted.
** Any function may be ALARMED OR MONITORED remotely. Sump levels, rain, wind speed, intrusion, pet activity, sounds, video, temperature, appliance failure ,etc may all be checked from ANY location.
** INTERNET VIDEO monitor your home or any location remotely from any internet-enabled computer.
